Welcome

at this website about

the total life-friendly, and therefore

both salving and salutary filosophy-of-life, called:

~ Vivism ~

Vivism briefly can be desribed as:

"Respecting life and well-being of all kinds

of creatures, in a measure, as big as possible".

("All kinds of creatures", or "all kinds of living beings", are mainly:

humans, animals, plants, molds and microbes).

The complete definition:

~ Vivism ~

is:

"In principal directly nor indirectly

killing, mutilating, wounding, hurting, treating rudely , or

injuring health of any living being,

and more than that,

preventing as far as possible, that those facts are committed

unintentionally, or by somebody else,

as well as

not stimulating others to commit

one or more of those facts, nor profiting from them".

Explanation

In broad outline this means, that it's regarded to be far from sufficient, when man respects life and well-being of other people ("his fellow men") in a measure, as big as possible. It's concidered to be very important, that this is done to all kinds of living beings; for not only people don't want to be killed, mutilated, injured, hurt, made less healthy, or treaten rudely; this most likely is a common characteristic of all kinds of living beings, including animals, plants, molds and even bacteria.

Now how can life and well-being of especially animals, plants, molds and bacteria be respected in a measure, as big as possible?

Firstly this can happen in the field of nutrition:

- Of course no animals are eaten.

- (Animal) milk(-products) and eggs are not consumed eather, because this is not possible, but after the animals concerning have been treaten more or less rudely.

- Plants are'nt eaten either (in opposition to their fruits).

- Molds (like mushrooms) are not eaten.

- By eating only raw-food, many microbe-lifes are spared, because in a cooking-proces many of them die in the fire and/or by the heat.

But in other fields than nutrition as well, there is a lot, that has to be left behind.

 For instance:

- Animal materials (like leather, ivory, natural silk and duck down) in principal are'nt used.

- Wood (and paper) is used as little as possible; after all, trees are also plants.

- Moldy food is not thrown away immediately, but only after the molds have stopped living.

- Killing and 'damaging' bacteria is reduced, among other things, by making as little fire as possible; (so not only by not cooking, but in general). Using as little soap-products as possible also has that effect.

By the way, how can life and well-being of persons be respected as much as possible?

- Allready there are rules in laws of most, if not all, countries, prohibiting to kill or wound other persons.

- "Not injuring health" of other persons includes preventing, that those others have to inhale polluted air, drink polluted water, swim in polluted water, eat food contending toxins, or have to miss natural silence and serenity. In many countries pollution of environment is prohibited to a certain extend; but determinating the measure in which it 's allowed, often is a political matter, so that in fact often even legal pollution has the effect of injuring health. (In case it doesn't, it mostly does have the effect of treating others rudely).

- "Not hurting" others is something, that still has to be integrated in many societies. Some laws to a certain extend prohibit hurting physically and some religions explicitely or implicitely teach to leave it behind, also in mental sence; (a.o. Christianism, Hinduism and Buddhism).

- "Not treating others rudely" is a subject, that legally is ruled only very incidentally. There are rules about not stealing and not sustaining detriment. Some religions implicitely teach it, where they promote treating others, the way one wamts to be treaten oneself.

Notwithstanding existance of laws and religious principles, as mentiomed above, it still occurs very much, that people act against them. The NPF (Nature Protection Foundation) is convinced, that this is so, as a result of the fact, that people are not tought, to treat all other kinds of living beings than humans respectfull as well, and as a result in many cases do treat them very inhumane. To her it simply is a punishement for that. (Wasn't it Tolstoi, who once wrote:" As long as there are abattoirs, there will be battlefields"? Besides, there's an old word, that says: "Who does right, will be treaten right". From here it's only a small step to: "Who does wrong, will be treaten badly").

And then there is the second part of the definition:

"Preventing, as far as possible, that this

(killing etc.) is committed unintentionally, or by somebody else".

There are many ways, in which one can (try to) prevent, one kills, wounds, mutilates, hurts, etc. one or more living beings unintentionally.

To mention a few:

- By driving as slowly as possible. Because the faster one drives, the smaller the chance, that animals (and playing children) still can get away, when they happen to be at the same place, at the same moment. This is not only the case, while using motorised vehicals; when on a summersday somebody bikes fast, the chance, that a little flie gets into his eye, is much bigger, than when he bikes slowly; it hardly ever occurs, that such an animal gets out of a humans eye alive.

(A vivist allways counts with the fact, that naturally, man can replace himself with a speed of just about three miles/five kilometers an hour; the faster than this he does, the more he acts against nature).

- When the owner of a pigeon brings it into a race, he knows, the risk, that it doesn't come back, is not small; (it can get killed in a thunderstorm, eat from a sprayed field, or die from exhaustion). For sure he doesn't want this, but when he takes that risk, and it goes wrong, he's to blame. A vivist, wouldn't take a risk like that (if he would keep pigeons captured at all).

There are also many ways, in which one can (try to) prevent, that somebody else kills, wounds, mutilates, hurts, etc. one or more living beings.

To mention a few:

- By joining or supporting an organisation, that is doing this institutionally one way or another. For instance a human-rights-, humanitarian, religious, animalprotecting, environmental, vegetarian, vegan, or fruitarian one.

- By doing what one can, to assist politics in taking the right course in this sence. For instance in the field of saving environment.

- By not producing (directly, or indirectly via shareholding,) materials or objects, that are not essential in life and of which one knows, they are allways or often used for activities, that are not favourable for mankind and/or the rest of nature. For instance weapons, alcohol, alcoholics, mineral oil, benzine, motorised vehicals, camera's, television-sets, and so on.

- By educating others to be nature-friendly.

- By individual actions, like putting out a virge fire; (and thus saving life of many plants and insects, that would have been killed otherwise, as a result of for instance somebody else having thrown away a stub).

Part three of the definition:

"...as well as not stimulating others, to commit one or more

of these facts, nor profiting from them"

This part contains two elements. The first one is:

"not stimulating others, to commit one or more of these facts".

There are many ways in which one can stimulate others to kill, mutillate, wound, hurt, etctera.

To mention just a few:

- The butcher's spouse, who doesn't try to make her husband find a more life friendly professional activity, but keeps supporting him, while there are other possibilities.

- All who are involved in advertising for things like traveling by airplane, non-vegetarian restaurants, non animal experiment free cosmetics, and parquet flooring, stimulate potential clients, to indirectly pollute the air, resp. kill animals, resp. torture animals, resp. kill trees (in tropical rainforests).

- Selling cooking tools evidently is a way of stimulating their use, which implies killing microbes, that naturally find themselves in fuel, food and water.

The second element of the third part is:

"nor profiting from them (the facts kiling, mutilating, etc) ".

One of the most evident ways of profiting from others, kiling etc., is holding shares in companies, of which the main activity has that effect. For instance in sectors like fishery, car production, chemical industry, and child pornography production.

One might however say, that shareholders are (part of) the company and as such are committing indirectly, what the company commits, so that they're not just profiting.

In that case, a more clear example is: just trading products, coming from those companies; for instance: tea, cigarettes, cheese, fish, glossies.

Conclusion

So there are new, as well as allready

known elements in this (new) filosophy of life.

Wellknown are:

- Not killing or wounding other persons; (in the law of most (if not all) countries).

- Not hurting other persons; (an important element in Hinduism and in Buddhism).

- Respecting life and well-being of others as much as one's own; (the guiding line in Christianity and in Humanism).

- Not killing animals; (the essential principle of a.o. Vegetarianism).

- Not wounding or hurting animals; (also in laws and an essential element in Animal protection).

- Respecting life and well-being of animals as much as one's own; (the guiding line in Veganism).

- Not killing plants and mushrooms (molds) for nutritional purposes; (essential in Fruitarianism).

- Not killing bacteria by cooking food; (a main argument for Raw-foodism).

- Taking care, that in principle all inhabitants of the country one is living in, get at least, what they need most; (for instance by voting for social laws, for socialism, or for communism).

- Preventing in other ways, that poor people starve, or become ill (as far as this is a result of others having destroyed natural availability of food and livability of environment, or other human actions); this directly, by for instance giving to beggars and indirectly, or indirectly by for instamce supporting charity-organisations, or becoming/staying Muslim, which includes, that one has to give a certain percentage of his/her income for this purpose.

- Preventing, that animals starve in winter (as a result of human activities).

Apart from these wellknown

elements, Vivism includes the following new ones:

- Plants are not killed at all; (so not just in the field of nutrition). For instance: trees are not cut and weeds are spared.

- Plants are not mutilated, nor wounded. For instance flowers are not cut and picked, grass is not mowed and branches are not torn, sawed, or cut off. Certain trees are not wouded to get their 'blood', of which rubber is made; (so in order not to commit this indirectly, a vivist uses as little as possible of this material). Also a way of mutilating a plant is picking off its leaves; for sure it doesn't want these vital organs to be taken away. So a vivist doesn't use tobacco or tea. Nor does he drink Coca Cola, because it's a known fact, that leaves of the Kola-tree are used in its production. 'Leaves' of sugar-cane are not picked, but cut off (to be compared with mowing gras, because here as well the plant is cut in two); no need to say, that a vivist doesn't use cane-sugar.

- In Animal-protection, Vegetarianism and Veganism (?) often a line is drawn between animals and vermin. This leads to ruthless killing of for instance flies, migs, spiders, mice, etcetera. Not so in Vivism. If necessary, other kinds of measures are taken to guarantee hygiene and to prevent eventual damage, but always in an animal friendly way. After having practiced this long enough, one even starts to like these creatures (again) and gets the impression, this is mutual.

- Moldy food is not thrown away immediately, but only after the molds have stopped living. In case there are molds on other objects, one does what one can, to let them live their life. It usually doesn't take very long, before they die off naturally.

- Bacteria are not only spared by not-cooking-food, but in every possible way. Among other things by making fire as little as possible and using as little soap-products, as possible; (indeed, for instance by taking a shower with only cold water).

Argumentation

But why, why all this together? Why is it supposed to be "not sufficient for man, to respect life and well-being of his fellow-men as much as possible"?

Well, when a person kills another person, this mostly raises (lots of) anger with some 10, 100, 1000, or (much) more, other persons. The same goes (most likely) in case a person kills another kind of living being; (with animals it's often evident, that other ones become furious then).

Now, because most persons usually (directly, or indirectly) kill many animals, plants and/or bacteria every day, all persons together are constantly making all of Fauna, Flora and 'Microbia' outrageous. This means, that people have to live in an environment of deep hatred. The more, because they additionally wound, hurt and treat many of those other beings rudely. Under these circumstances it is impossible, to stay gentle to each other as well. This in its turn raises even more hatred. So here is, or may be, one of the reasons, why man now has to live on a planet, that is becoming like hell more and more, while it's meant to be paradise. By practising Vivism on the contrary, one more and more becomes friends with all these creatures, that naturally surround humans and this results in a most pleasant co-existance. In this way one gets an impression, of how paradiselike Earth could be.

What other arguments are there, to turn to Vivism?

- Because vivistic nutrition is purely natural, it causes little stress; after eating, all is (still) very harmonic inside. As a consequence, one has little need of material 'affluent-society-drugs', of which production and use in many cases are desastrous for nature, including man. Immaterial 'drugs', that often lead to mental and ethical degravation, aren't needed either.  ( http://www.vivism.info/pageID_5812164.html )

- It might be the best (because most natural) way, to stop growing, desastrous, overpopulation ( http://www.vivism.info/pageID_5803126.html ) of the planet. Because vivistic nutrition, as said before, leads to inner harmony, the need of certain relaxing activities ("libido") is strongly deminished to the natural level. This in its turn makes the natural anticonceptional-method realisable very well. This is very important, because especcially in those continents, that mainly cause global overpopulation (Asia and Africa), artificial anti-conceptional means are hardly or not accepted.

By the way sexuality:

----- The fact, that overpopulation is one of the most serious threats of human life on Earth, in general also makes a vivist be averse of all ways, in which natural barriers against this overpopulation are bypassed. (Inoculation against childhood-deseases, Artificial insemination, IVF, Cloning).

----- On the other hand, anti-conceptiva, with all their unwanted side-effects, can be omitted very well. The same goes for abortion, which is rejected in principal by Vivism, because it is a way of putting an end to a life, although this is still connected with another one).

----- Another positive aspect of strongly reduced libido is, that perversities, like homosexuality, paedophilia and incest, as well as adultery, don't have to occur any more. This in it's turn can lead to a strong reduction of HIV/AIDS-appearence.

----- (An additive positive aspect of adultery occuring less frequently, or no more at all, is, that there will be less, or no more people, that don't grow up in a real family (with both their natural mother and father, as well as with there eventual full brother(s) and/or sister(s)).

----- No matter masturbation is a perversity as well, or not, and notwithstanding the fact, that "it can be fine", according to the once popular musical "HAIR", with a natural libido, this not very healthy activity doesn't have to occur any more).

----- And last but not least, human dignity will be hurt less often, or no more, by prostitution and rape.

More arguments:

- Not eating animal-food deminishes the need of farming-land, because production of plant-food takes much less of it. So the more is eaten in the vivistic way, the less tropical rainforests ("Lungs-of-Earth") will have to be cut and burned, as happens nowadays.

- Making as little as possible fire, leads to a strongly deminished use of fuel and thus to an equally strongly reduced pollution of air, water and soil. (One of the ways, in which this can be realised, is restricting transportation as much as possible; for instance by not eating fruits, that don't grow in ones domestic climate, but have to be got from far.

- Using as little as possible soap-products, deminishes pollution of especially water as well.

- Eating cooked food is said to be bad for health. According to Raw-foodists, by cooking, a toxin (poison, like nicotine) developes in foodproducts, while nutriants are degenerated. This in its turn causes most, if not all, deseases and fastens the process of growing-old. Eating only raw-food on the contrary, is like using exactly the kind of fuel, that fits best in the body-machine.
